WPP Group plc acquires PFour, a leading UK strategic marketing
consultancy in financial services
WPP Group plc ('WPP') has acquired PFour Consultancy Limited
('PFour'), is one of the UKs leading strategic marketing
consultancies which specialises in financial services.
PFour was founded 10 years ago and operates in the UK, with
coverage in North America, Europe and Australasia. PFour develops
programmes in the areas of brand strategy, customer segmentation,
salesforce re-organisation, partnerships and alliances and
marketing orientation. Its client base includes over 50 financial
service organisations, including 30 companies in the FTSE 100.
For the year ending April 30th 1999, revenues were £3,341,943 and
net assets at April 30th 1999 were £346,000.
PFour will continue to be run by its founding directors Conrad
Free, Sarah Denby-Jones, Louise Thompson and Trace Allen.
Commenting on the acquisition, Conrad Free, PFours Chief
Executive said, 'We believe that the global nature of business
today means that we need increased international presence to
accelerate our growth and enhance our ability to service our
clients. Being part of the WPP Group also provides us with an
exciting opportunity to expand our global client base.'
The acquisition of PFour complements WPPs activities in the
faster growing segments of the communications services industry
such as financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, hi-
tech and retailing. It also offers opportunities to develop co-
operative activities across WPPs information and consultancy
business and its specialist communications consultancies.
