J. Walter Thompson Company acquires
Imagio Technology Advertising and Public Relations
WPP announces the acquisition by its wholly owned operating
company, J. Walter Thompson Company ('JWT'), of the entire
issued share capital of Imagio Technology Advertising and
Public Relations ('Imagio'), a full service agency based in
Seattle, Washington, US. Imagio provides advertising,
public relations and interactive web development services to
clients in the technology sector.
The agency, which had revenues in 1999 of $6.7 million and
net assets of $1 million as at 31 December 1999, will be
renamed Imagio/JWT.
Founded in 1993, Imagio has over 30 technology clients,
mostly in the Puget Sound region and in California's Silicon
Valley. These include AtomFilms, SEASONTICKET.com,
Attachmate Corporation, Biztro, Cambridge Silicon Radio and
Spacelabs Medical.
The acquisition further strengthens WPP's position in the
rapidly growing hi-tech sector.
