                    ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING : TRADING UPDATE

Xaar plc ('Xaar'), the inkjet printing technology group headquartered in
Cambridge, is holding its Annual General Meeting today. The Chairman, Arie
Rosenfeld will give the following update on trading:


'I am pleased to report that trading in the first quarter of 2004 continued to
build on the strong turn-round to profitability and cash generation achieved
during the second half of 2003 and the company looks forward to achieving
further progress during 2004.


'Xaar will be exhibiting its existing and new products at the Drupa trade
exhibition which starts next week. Drupa is the largest international printing
industry trade exhibition, held once every four years in Dusseldorf, Germany. In
addition to Xaar's own stand, its products and technologies will be incorporated
into printing equipment on show at many other exhibitor stands, including Agfa
Gevaert, who will be displaying the new jointly developed OmniDot printhead.'
