NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES

The Company was notified today by Hermes Administration Services Limited, on
behalf of The Trustees of BT Pension Scheme, informing them that they have a
material interest in 3,729,942 shares, representing 6.23% of the issued ordinary
share capital of the company. The shares are registered in the name of BriTel
Fund Nominees Limited.

The Company was also notified today by Hermes Administration Services Limited,
on behalf of Royal Mail Pensions Trustees Limited, informing them that they have
a material interest in 2,534,479 shares, representing 4.24% of the issued
ordinary share capital of the Company. The shares are registered in the name of
PossFund Nominees Limited.

Following these disclosures Hermes Administration Services Limited now has an
overall non beneficial interest as Fund Manager in 6,264,421 shares,
representing 10.47% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
