Notification of Major Interests in Shares

The Company received a notification yesterday from Hermes Administration
Services Limited, on behalf of The Trustees of BT Pension Scheme, Hermes Pension
Management Limited and Hermes Investment Management Limited informing it that
they have a material interest in 6,952,266 shares, representing 11.62% of the
issued ordinary share capital of the company. The shares are registered in the
name of BriTel Fund Nominees Limited and Possfund Nominees Ltd.
