                                 AGM Statement


At the Annual General Meeting held today the Chairman, Bill Fairservice, gave
the following update to shareholders:


'At the time of our preliminary results on 8 March 2004 I stated that our
expectation was for moderate sales growth and a further improvement in our North
American operations, partly offset by unfavourable foreign exchange rates and
cost pressures elsewhere.  I am pleased to report that trading has started well
in 2004 and we are experiencing sales growth in line with our expectations.
Costs are also in line with our previous guidance and good progress continues to
be made in North America.


The development of new high performance foams continues with increasing interest
in our recently launched ZOTEK(R) grades as well as encouraging results in a
number of early stage developments.'


The Company will announce its interim results on 10 August 2004.
