Top industry award for ReZorce® beverage cartons

27 November 2023 - Zotefoams, a world leader in cellular materials technology, is pleased to announce that ReZorce^® mono-material barrier packaging has been named Best Recycled Plastic Product of the Year at the 2023 Plastics Industry Awards.

Announcing their decision at the Awards ceremony, the judges said: "This groundbreaking plastic material looks set to replace the very commonly used but difficult to recycle multi-layer barrier packaging board and presents a real opportunity for the industry to solve a long-term environmental problem with a mono-material alternative that is readily recyclable."

Currently the subject of a Joint Development Agreement with a major global player in beverage packaging, ReZorce offers advantages over traditional ("composite") beverage cartons delivering a lower carbon footprint, recyclability via standard recycling streams and is designed for the circular economy, initially by using 30% post-consumer recycled materials. Crucially, ReZorce can be processed on existing packing and filling equipment and therefore requires only minor capital investment by the retailer or packaging company wishing to adopt this disruptive technology.
