                            Issue of shares 

The directors of Orchard Furniture plc have allotted 7,304,758 new ordinary
shares pursuant to the terms of the Creditors Voluntary Arrangement approved on
10 January 2000. The directors believe that this is the final issue of shares 
to satisfy claims under CVA. Application will be made for these shares to be
admitted to trading on AIM, and dealings are expected to commence on 29 March
2001.
