Orchard Furniture plc ('Orchard' or the 'Company')

Result of EGM


The Company announces that at the extraordinary general meeting of the Company
held earlier today, the resolutions put to shareholders of Orchard were duly
passed. The Placing and Open Offer and the acquisition of World Sport Group
(Jersey) Limited remain conditional upon admission of the new Ordinary Shares
to trading on the Alternative Investment Market, which is expected to take
place on 15 August 2001.
