On 2 January 2007 the Group's wholly owned subsidiary, Brewin Dolphin Securities
Limited, acquired the private client business operated by Argenti Hope & Co for
an aggregate purchase price of £1.78 million which includes the issue of 534,906
Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC ordinary shares.
