DEATH OF DIRECTOR

The Board of Gartmore Growth Opportunities plc announces with regret the
unexpected death of the Chairman, David Peters.

The Board's sympathies are with David's family.

The Board wish to highlight their appreciation for the contribution David made
to the Company since its launch in 1991. The Company benefited greatly from his
commercial experience and willingness to move beyond the conventional,
including for example, supporting the Manager in holding put options during
2007 and 2008, which added considerable shareholder value during that time. 

The Board will nominate a new Chairman in due course.
