Fidelity Japanese Values beats index

Fidelity Japanese Values net asset value fell by 6.2% in the year to the end of December. The company says this represents an outperformance of 3.1% relative to the benchmark, the Russell Nomura Mid/ Small Cap Index in sterling terms. It says the outperformance was largely attributable to holdings in the domestic consumer sector, which was relatively insulated from a global economic downturn.
