John Menzies profit up 35% following ASIG deal

Baggage handling group John Menzies posted a 35% rise in annual profit after its acquisition of fuel-management provider ASIG boosted revenue and off-charges fell. Pre-tax profit rose to £26.7m amid a 21% increase in revenue to £2.52bn. The company declared a final dividend of 14.5p per share, bringing total payouts for the year to 20.5p, up 11%. 'We continue to make good progress on our separation plans and a sale process for Menzies Distribution is now underway,' chairman Dermot F. Smurfit said.
