By BFN News | 04:02 PM | Tuesday 14 May, 2013

North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust's fully diluted net asset value rose by 20.2% in the year to the end of January - outperforming the sterling-adjusted Standard & Poor's Composite Index which rose by 13.4%. The trust's revenue account showed a loss after tax attributable to shareholders of £494,000 (2012: profit of £14,000). Consistent with the company's long standing policy, the directors are not recommending the payment of a dividend (2012: nil). The company made no new purchases of its own ordinary shares for cancellation during this year but says a resumption of share buy backs is likely if there are disposals of some of the major unquoted holdings this year.
