Synchronica acquires Neustar NGM business

Mobile messaging services Synchronica plc has agreed to acquire 11 carrier and OEM contracts and technology from Neustar NGM Services for $0.251m cash. The company expects the acquired business will be earnings accretive in 2011. Short-term funding of $1.5m for the acquisition has been agreed. Under the deal, Synchronica will acquire customer contracts, accounts, intellectual property, patents and software and all other associated assets from Neustar. It covers the company's instant messaging business, including the technology, 11 contracts with Tier-1 and Tier-2 mobile operators and two contracts with Tier-1 device manufacturers. CEO Carsten Brinkschulte said the acquisition further accelerated Synchronica's business and cemented its position as the leading provider of next-generation messaging services for mobile operators and device manufacturers.
