Gipave contract for groundbreaking resurfacing project for Rome 2025 Jubilee

Delivering significant sustainability benefits

London, UK - Directa Plus (AIM: DCTA), a leader in the production of pristine graphene nanoplatelets for use in consumer and industrial markets through a unique and patented chemical-free process, announces that the collaboration between Directa Plus and Iterchimica to develop and produce Gipave, a Green Asphalt embedded with G+ graphene, has achieved another important recognition. Gipave has been chosen for an extensive resurfacing operation in Rome, ahead of the 2025 Jubilee.

Anas, the Italian public road company, has awarded the contract for a resurfacing operation to cover c.15 kilometers of historical routes, using Gipave technology. Gipave is enriched with Directa Plus' graphene and hard recycled plastics, which increases a roads lifespan by up to 61% compared to current market technologies.

Directa Plus' collaboration with Iterchimica demonstrates the joint commitment to environmental sustainability by saving over 200,000 kg of bitumen and 4.5 million kg of aggregates, reducing the need for over 300 truck trips for material transportation, and cutting down 1,110 MWh of energy consumption and 446,000 kg of CO2 emissions. The process also integrates 32,000 kg of otherwise non-recyclable hard plastics, reinforcing the Group's commitment to circular economy principles.

Giulio Cesareo, CEO of Directa Plus, commented: "Our involvement in the Jubilee project not only underscores our innovative edge in graphene applications but also showcases our strong commitment to sustainability. By integrating our advanced materials into real-world applications, we are paving the way towards more sustainable infrastructure solutions globally. We are proud to contribute to this significant project, which aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver environmentally friendly solutions through our advanced graphene technology."

Federica Giannattasio, CEO of Iterchimica, commented: "We are proud that Anas has chosen our Gipave technology for such a prestigious event as the Rome Jubilee 2025. This project showcases the potential of innovative, sustainable road solutions to make a significant impact on local and global sustainability goals."

Directa Plus (www.directa-plus.com) is one of the largest producers and suppliers of graphene-based products for use in consumer and industrial markets. The Company's graphene manufacturing capability uses proprietary patented technology based on a plasma super expansion process. Starting from natural graphite, each step of Directa Plus' production process - expansion, exfoliation and drying - creates graphene-based materials and hybrid graphene materials ready for a variety of uses and available in various forms such as powder, liquid and paste.

This proprietary production process uses a physical process, rather than a chemical process, to process graphite into pristine graphene nanoplatelets, which enables Directa Plus to offer a sustainable, non-toxic product, without unwanted by-products.

Directa Plus' products are made of hybrid graphene materials and graphene nano-platelets. The products (marketed as G+(R)) have multiple applications due to its properties. These G+(R) products can be categorised into various families, with different products being suitable for specific practical applications.

Directa Plus was established in 2005 and is based in Lomazzo (Como, Italy) and has been listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange since May 2016. Directa Plus holds the Green Economy Mark from London Stock Exchange which recognises companies that contribute to the global green economy.
