BREWIN DOLPHIN HOLDINGS PLC ('the Company')


Notification of Transaction of Directors, Persons Discharging Managerial
Responsibility (PDMR) or Connected Persons


This notification relates to a transaction notified in accordance with
Disclosure Rules 3.1.4R(1)(a).


On 17 December 2007, the Company received notice from:-


1. Barry Howard, an Executive Director, that on that date he paid up 30,376 nil 
   paid ordinary shares of 1 pence each at a price of 82.3 pence each, these had 
   been issued under the Senior Employee Matching Share Purchase Scheme in 
   December 2003.


His holding in ordinary shares in the Company is 124,975 ordinary shares (of
which 91,988 are nil paid), representing approximately 0.0602% of the total
issued share capital of the Company and the total number of shares over which
options are held by him is 148,018 shares.


2. Sarah Soar, an Executive Director, that on that date he paid up 30,376 nil 
   paid ordinary shares of 1 pence each at a price of 82.3 pence each, these had 
   been issued under the Senior Employee Matching Share Purchase Scheme in 
   December 2003.


Her holding in ordinary shares in the Company is 260,149 ordinary shares (of
which 37,073 are nil paid), representing approximately 0.1254% of the total
issued share capital of the Company and the total number of shares over which
options are held by her is 89,295 shares.


3. Graeme Summers, a PDMR, that on that date he paid up 60,753 nil paid ordinary 
   shares of 1 pence each at a price of 82.3 pence each, these had been issued 
   under the Senior Employee Matching Share Purchase Scheme in December 2003.


His holding in ordinary shares in the Company is 231,005 ordinary shares (of
which 77,875 are nil paid), representing approximately 0.1113% of the total
issued share capital of the Company and the total number of shares over which
options are held by him is 159,627 shares.
