DORI MEDIA GROUP TO SELL STAKE IN
ARGENTINEAN T.V. STUDIOS
Dori Media Group, (“DMG” or “the Company”), the international media
company active in the field of television, with focus in production,
distribution, marketing and broadcasting of telenovelas, announces the
sale of its 50% stake in Dori Media Central Studios (“DMCS”), its TV
production studios in Argentina for US$850,000 to Mrs. Celina Amadeo,
the owner of the remaining 50% of DMCS and to Mr. Marcelo Octavio
Amadeo. The sale has been agreed between the parties and is now subject
to approval by the Labor Ministry of Argentina, which is expected in
February 2010.
DMCS, formerly known as Central Park Productions S.A., was established
in its current structure on October 26th, 2007 when Dori Media
International GmbH (“DMI”), a wholly own subsidiary of DMG, became an
equal partner in the Studios with Mrs. Celina Amadeo.
Following a divergence of interests and looking for new ventures in
Latin America and specifically in Argentina, Dori Media Group decided to
sell its 50% stake to Mrs. Celina Amadeo. However, this will not affect
DMG’s production plans in Latin America and in Argentina. ‘Ciega a
Citas’ (Date Blind), Dori Media’s leading series co-produced with
ROSSTOC S.A., will continue to be filmed at the studios until mid 2010.
Nadav Palti, President & CEO of Dori Media Group commented: "Buying a
stake in Dori Media Central Studios was part of a larger strategy, and
this strategy hasn't changed. Dori Media Group is now examining new
opportunities and ways to invest in new ventures in Latin America. In
addition, the group will continue its traditional productions in
Argentina, producing high quality titles, with international appeal, and
sell them worldwide such as the current successful production of ‘Ciega
a Citas’. Production plans of DMG in Argentina for 2010 are already
taking place and in fact we have plans for at least 2 new productions to
be produced by Dori Media Contenidos S.A., the Argentinean production
arm of DMI.”
