Part-time.com introduces new services in association with
business partners
Hong Kong, April 3, 2001
In a press conference held in Hong Kong last week, Part-
time.com announced the introduction of new services and
unveiled alliances with a number of new business partners
in the Far East.
Part-time.com is the unique web-based business aimed
exclusively at those seeking part-time and temporary work
as well as those wishing to earn additional income by
taking a second job - a feature increasingly common in
the life of bustling Hong Kong. The business is owned and
operated by Cybermax Network Technology Ltd., a Hong Kong
based company in which EPA invested HK$15 million
(approximately GBP1,364,000) for 49% of the equity.
Features offered by Part-time.com are specially designed
to cater for the needs and behaviour of both part-time
jobseekers and employers, a market that is significantly
different from the full-time job market. (Part-
time.com's record for the time between posting a job
vacancy and receipt by the employer of the first
application is six minutes.) In addition to such
features, Part-time.com also utilizes a proprietary sales
management and customer relationship system to enhance
its value-added services to the employers.
Despite limited advertising and promotion support, the
Part-time.com website now gets over 100,000 visitors a
month whilst more than 2,000 employers are registered
with the company (including, for example, one third of
all major retail chains in Hong Kong). With its initial
phase of service development now fully completed, Part-
time.com will launch a major promotional campaign devised
by leading international advertising agency, Oglivy and
Mather, in April. Growth in business is anticipated to
be significant and sustained.
To meet this demand and to accommodate the anticipated
rapid growth, Part-time.com is pleased to announce its
collaboration with a number of business partners,
including SGI Hong Kong and YesMobile. SGI Hong Kong
will be providing a high power computer system to
deliver the fastest and most reliable recruitment
advertising service in the sector, while with
YesMobile's short message service, job applicants can
receive job vacancy notices (and interview results)
direct to their mobile phones - important when Internet
penetration has not yet reached its highest potential and
competition is fierce for both employers and employees in
the part-time job market.
