Statement regarding launch of new European Exchange-Traded Fund Company Public
Limited Company sub-fund.


The Directors of European Exchange-Traded Fund Company Public Limited Company
have announced the forthcoming launch of the following new iShares funds:


iShares S&P Timber & Forestry
iShares MSCI Latin America
(the 'New Funds')


The New Funds have been admitted to the United Kingdom Listing Authority's
Official List and trading commenced today on the London Stock Exchange.


European Exchange-Traded Fund Company Public Limited Company (the 'Company') is
an open-ended investment company with variable capital having segregated
liability between its funds organised under the laws of Ireland.  The Company
was authorised by the Financial Regulator as an Undertaking for Collective
Investment in Transferable Securities ('UCITS') for the purposes of the
Regulations on 23 December 1999, to offer pooled investment.  The Company is
structured as an umbrella fund in that the share capital of the Company may be
divided into different classes of shares with one or more classes representing a
separate fund of the Company.  Each fund may have more than one share class.



Certain terms in this announcement are defined in the supplements for the New
Funds and/or the prospectus for European Exchange-Traded Fund Company Public
Limited Company.



Copies of the supplements for the New Funds have been submitted to the Financial
Services Authority (UK) and are now available for inspection at the Document
