NEW YORK, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital comedy network Atom.com, COMEDY CENTRAL's exclusive partner and anchor
brand for original digital programming, announced that the second season of
“Legend Of Neil” has launched, following a standing-room-only screening and Q&A at
Comic-Con this weekend. With nearly one million plays, the hit Web series by
creator Sandeep Parikh built one of the Web’s
most enthusiastic fan bases in 2008. Season two of the “Legend Of Neil”
debuts with the official release of episode 7 today at http://legendofNeil.Atom.com.
“Legend Of Neil”
chronicles the reluctant adventures of our reluctant hero Neil (Tony Janning), a gas station attendant who gets sucked into
“The Legend Of Zelda” after a night of heavy drinking, and is forced to become
Link, the game’s elfin hero, on a quest to save the princess. The series was a
hit among Web users and particularly gamers, who also know Parikh from his work
as an actor in Felicia Day's "The Guild," a
popular Web series set in the world of massively-multiplayer online games. Day
(also seen in “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” and “Buffy The Vampire
Slayer”) appears in “Legend Of Neil” as Neil’s tiny foul-mouthed fairy love
interest.
"I couldn't be more thrilled to get season two out to the fans after
another very successful collaboration with Atom.com,” said Parikh. “We really
tried to step things up across the board and expand the world. Neil will
revisit many of our favorite characters from season one and stumble upon a plethora
of new ones. And, of course, at some point you'll see Neil in his
underwear."
Seven new episodes will debut during season two of “Legend Of Neil,”
with new episodes premiering every other Monday (episode 8 will debut August 10, followed by the advance-buzz-laden musical,
episode 9, on August 24). MTV2 is helping Atom
celebrate the premiere of the second season by playing each episode from season one
on-air at 11:00 p.m., beginning today and
continuing on July 28, 29, and 30, and August 3 and 4.
The reach of Atom.com network extends far beyond its popular Web site,
