WARTHOG SIGNS WITH THQ INTERNATIONAL TO DEVELOP ITS FIRST I-MODE GAMES FOR
MOBILE PLATFORMS
Warthog plc has today announced that it has won a contract from THQ Mobile to
develop a game based on their MotoGP licence for mobile platforms.
The contract marks Warthog's first movement into i-mode games, but will also
Involve MotoGP games for WAP and SMS platforms. MotoGP is a motorcycle racing
game based upon the MotoGP world championship.
The SMS version works by firing messages back and forth between the server and
the player for each decision made. The WAP version, features graphics of the
action and a slick, easy to use interface. On i-mode the game runs, faster,
smoother and in colour.
i-mode, a brand and mobile internet access system owned by NTT-DoCoMo, is one
of the world's most successful services offering wireless web browsing and
e-mail from mobile phones. It is estimated that there are over 30 Million
i-mode users worldwide.
Tim Coupe, Warthog's VP of Mobile and Hand Held Games, commented:
