Worldlink Betbutler Collaboration: Ramsgate First Football Club to Benefit

Worldlink and Betbutler have been working together to create a mobile phone application whereby the Betbutler service could be made available using Worldlink's gatekeeper patented technology over all mobile platforms and devices.  The first football Club to benefit from this service will be Ramsgate FC who recently launched the pilot service to their supporters at their last home game. Worldlink and Betbutler are merging their respective technologies to provide a unique opportunity to give the best prices for the betting community on all major sports, in any country, in real-time and delivered and operated from their mobile or desktop.

The Worldlink and Betbutler partnership enables a shared revenue model with Charity's, organisations and Clubs giving benefits to all partners involved in the scheme, with any normal betting service losses being absorbed by Betbutler.

Ahead of the full commercial roll out during 2012, Ramsgate Football Club is the first in the pilot scheme with Worldlink introducing other Clubs in the other leagues across the country.  The partnership was launched at Ramsgate FC before their recent match with Sittingbourne which was won 3-2 by Ramsgate.  Importantly, the club were able to launch to the supporters at the match the new service for betting through the betting website.  Any supporter of the club or indeed Ramsgate and surrounding boroughs can now bet through the Ramsgate portal at (http://ramsgate.betbutler.co.uk/ ) and bets from supporters, not only on the match itself, but on any sporting event around the World, will be shared with the Club.  For phone wagers they can also bet by phone with Betbutler citing their Ramsgate account.

To make this work for the club, the PR team at Ramsgate created an event and invited local press and broadcast media down to the launch of the new service.  Ramsgate will continue to provide the marketing to the supporters of Ramsgate Football Club and potentially other regular people who bet, making it clear that by betting through the Ramsgate portal any losses generated by the bets by the users of the service will be shared across Worldlink, Betbutler and Ramsgate FC.  By careful marketing it is assumed that steady use of the application will be built up which will then generate revenues that can be used by Ramsgate to support and grow its activities in the community.

Andy Naylor MD of Betbutler said: "Through our unique service we can provide the best odds that people can get for a vast number of sporting events around the World.  It is estimated that each person betting regularly will lose about £100 per month, so if 1,000 supporters do their betting through the Ramsgate Club betting website, then twenty percent of the £100,000 pounds lost could go to the club each month providing much needed revenue for the club, not only during the football season, but through the summer as well."

Richard Lawson Chairman of Ramsgate Football Club commented:  "We are a small and successful Club, not only running the first team but also 20 other teams through the Club.  We are also looking at starting a Women's team but have been held back because all of these plans cost money, which for a team such as Ramsgate is in short supply. Money is always tight and when we were approached by Worldlink with this shared revenue proposition, it seemed too good to be true.  We have looked at every angle, but still have come to the conclusion that if we can reach out to regular betters who either support the Club or the Town, then we will be able to generate reliable income streams which could make all of the difference to the aspirations of the Club.  We are trying it out. We will be marketing the service to all of our supporters and will see what the response is - knowing that we will get out of this partnership, what we are prepared to put in."

Neil Riches, MD of Worldlink added: "When we applied for and were awarded our patents, we never envisaged such a wide use and diverse applications that could bring revenues to small and large organisations. Whenever you speak to a sports' governing body or foundation it is clear in my opinion that the companies that make a lot of money out of sports betting hardly give anything back to the sport. In addition to this, the Government is struggling to support 'grass root' sports due to the economic decline that somebody just had to step in. This initiative has done just that. The whole of the community involved, in all sports, are protected by our patents. Coupled with the 'best price' and people in the relevant sport assisting us it is a truly enlightening initiative."
