NHS Professionals signs £19 million finance, accounting and payroll contract

Xansa, the outsourcing and technology company, is pleased to announce that NHS
Shared Business Services has signed a £19 million, six year contract to provide
finance and accounting (F&A) and payroll services to NHS Professionals, the
Special Health Authority which provides high quality flexible staff to NHS
organisations.

Under the contract, which will provide over £5 million guaranteed cost savings
over the life of the contract, NHS Shared Business Services will deliver payroll

NHS Professionals and it will deliver guaranteed cost savings in excess of £5
million. The service offered by NHS SBS will also provide access to additional
functionality that will add to our financial management."

Commenting on the announcement Peter Coates, Deputy Director of Finance,
Department of Health, said:

"This contract brings together two key members of the NHS family to realise cost
savings and allow more doctors, nurses and clinical staff to concentrate on
patient care".

Commenting on the announcement Alistair Cox, Chief Executive, Xansa said:

"We welcome NHS Professionals into the growing family of NHS organisations that
are already making financial and business efficiencies. A quarter of all NHS
Trusts are now part of NHS SBS and we can see massive opportunities for driving
out costs, reducing the administrative burden and opening up a new era of
opportunity and change throughout the NHS. This contract represents a step
change for NHS Shared Business Services, expanding its payroll offering to make
it the largest payroll provider in the NHS. It also further underlines NHS
Shared Business Services' position as the leading back-office shared service
provider in the UK public sector."
