AGM Statement

YORKLYDE PLC

28 JUNE 2002

YORKLYDE PLC (the 'Company' or 'Yorklyde')

At the Company's AGM held today, Charles Brook, Chairman of Yorklyde, a
manufacturer of high value cloth and accessories for the luxury goods sector and
high specification fabrics for use in the transport industry, reported on the
Company's results for the year ended 31 January 2002 and added the following
comments on the current year's trading:

When we announced our preliminary results in April, I reported on the difficult
trading situation faced by the Group following the tragic events of September
11th and the subsequent fall off in demand for the Group's products throughout
its markets. These effects are still being experienced and together with the
various reorganisation costs referred to in the announcement, principally the
closure of the Langholm manufacturing operation, are likely to affect the
year-end results. However, the actions taken by your Directors will have a
positive effect on profitability next
year unless events outside the Group's control dictate otherwise.
