DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS PROPERTY GENERATES EXCEPTIONAL PROFIT

Yorklyde Plc ('Yorklyde' or the 'Company'), a manufacturer of high value cloth
and accessories for the luxury goods sector and high specification fabrics for
use in the transport industry, is pleased to announce that it has today
exchanged contracts to dispose for £380,000 of the premises at Newton Abbott
which were previously occupied by the group's Westcountry Clothing business ('
Westcountry'). Westcountry was sold on 18 May 2001 and, since that date, the
property has been let to the new owners of Westcountry. It is intended that
completion should take place at the beginning of May 2002.

The net book value of the property was £267,000. The proceeds of the sale will
be used to reduce group borrowings.

The Company will be announcing its preliminary results for the year ended 31
January 2002 on 23 April 2002.
