Extension of Mark Ling as Senior Statutory Auditor

The audit committee of Ananda Developments Plc (AQUIS: ANA), the company whose ambition is to be a leading provider of cannabinoid-based medicines for the treatment of chronic, complex inflammatory pain conditions, has agreed to the extension of Mark Ling, a partner in PKF-Littlejohn LLP (PKF), term  as the Senior Statutory Auditor on Ananda's audit for the financial year ending 31 January 2024 beyond the normal five year tenure.

PKF was appointed as the auditor of the Company prior to its admission to the Aquis Stock Exchange in 2018 and has been reappointed at every Annual General Meeting since. PKF is responsible for issuing the audit report on the Company's consolidated financial statements.

The flexibility provided in extending Mark into a sixth year is key to the upholding of audit quality, given the major changes which have occurred in the business in the current and previous years, including multiple acquisitions and a change in the focus of the business. Mark's knowledge in these key audit areas, built up through his experience in his years in the role, is best suited to navigate these changes from an audit perspective, rather than the onboarding of a new Senior Statutory Auditor. The knowledge will provide robust challenge which the Audit Committee believes will lead to the best audit quality outcomes for the period ended 31 January 2024.

The Directors confirm that this request is in compliance with the requirements set out in the Guidance on Audit Committees, issued by the Financial Reporting Council and that the process to replace Mark Ling has started and a new Partner will be in place for the audit of the period ending 31 January 2025.
